Personalisation adds that special touch.Couture Cakes specialises in British sugarcraft techniques -- rich fruitcakes lovingly "fed" the finest of liqueurs before covering with a custom made layer of marzipan, and topped off with a unique selection of royal icing decorative touches.A "Couture Cake" is not only elegant - it is both 'made to order' and 'made from scratch,' featuring the highest quality ingredients. She owned and operated Elaine's Elegant Edibles in Virginia from 1991 to 1995. Elaine was graduated from the Cities and Guilds Institute of London, course 7900 (sugarcraft design) in 1995. She was approved as an official demonstrator by the British Sugarcraft Guild in late 1995.Elaine produced a sugarcraft design course accredited by Open College Network, U.K. in 1995, and taught at South Downs College, Havant, U. K., for two years. She is currently the Co-founder and president of the Confectionery Artists Guild of Orlando.Elaine demonstrated her new Gingerpaste technique at the International Cake Exploration Societe International Convention in Detroit last year. Recently, Elaine was a featured presenter at the British Sugarcraft Guild international convention at Telford in June 2001.
